MacX Free iDVD Video Converter is a video conversion tool that can be used to convert your videos so that you can import them into the iDVD authoring software. Although discontinued by Apple some time ago, the application is still a popular way of converting QuickTime movies and other files so that you can burn them on DVDs. iDVD doesn't have the best input format support, and this converter allows you to open pretty much any video file on your Mac and convert it into MPEG-4 in an MP4 container, which is accepted just fine by iDVD.

The graphical user interface isn't flashy, but it is very simple and to the point. Before you load video files, you will see some on-screen instructions on how to use the app, which is quite simple. You just select the format you want to convert the files to. You will notice two tabs at the bottom of the screen; one lets you convert to MPEG-4 and the other to MP3 audio files. Some individual conversion settings like volume, audio quality, sample rate, video bitrate, and image settings can be changed from these tabs.

The application doesn't come with a video player or editor. You can trim your videos by manually entering the start and end times, but that is all the editing you can do with this program.
