MahJong Tradition is a turn-based card game with a mahjong twist in which you play against other players. Every player will have 13 tiles and must form sets of 4 or 3 identical tiles, or three in sequence. When it is your turn, you need to declare the sets you have formed and these will be shown on the table. When you are done, you need to throw a card. That card may be picked up or not by the next player. The first player who gets rid of all the tiles wins the round.
The game includes other more complex rules which can be read in the help file in the Options menu. There are also four modes and different gameplays that can be customized to your liking. Unfortunately, the game can only be played against other computer players, so you cannot play with a friend locally, which would be great. You can also select the tileset and background color. Sadly, the game offers very simple graphics and sounds, and no music at all.
To conclude, if you are looking for a new variant of mahjong to pass the time, MahJong Tradition may be a good choice.
