mediAvatar iPhone Contact Transfer is a backup utility. It can be used to transfer your contact list from your iPhone back to your Mac for safekeeping. If you used one of mediAvatar's backup utilities in the past, you will feel right at home with this one. The graphical user interface is similar in all these apps. The first screen that you will see is a summary of your device, including name, device type and serial number. The interface consists of two main panes, which become four when you click on "Contacts". When you do that, the app will display all the contacts that you have stored on your device. You can additionally select whether you want to see the contacts stored on iCloud only.
To backup a contact, you can simply select it and click on the "Export contact to computer" button. There is also a button that will backup all your contacts in a single operation.
This app also lets you browse and even transfer your SMS history. You can also select them all by checking the name box at the top of the screen and then clicking on the "Export" button.
In conclusion, if all you need to do is backup your contacts and messages, this app is more than adequate. It works well, it is fast and very easy to use.
