Metal Slug 3 is a classic arcade game that recreates the amazing gameplay of the original.

The Metal Slug series is one of the best side-scrolling arcade shooters available. Originally on the NEOGEO, and ported to various other devices, the game is now on Android. The game accurately recreates the same experience that existed when the original game released.

Visuals in Metal Slug 3 are 16-bit sprite-based action. The graphics are exactly like the original. With additional options for aspect ratio and scanlines, Metal Slug 3 is like the original. Expect lots of bullets and effects flying across the screen. Metal Slug 3 does have some frame rate slowdown when there is a lot of animation onscreen however.

Metal Slug 3’s gameplay uses a virtual joystick and the three buttons to throw grenades, shoot your guns, and jump. The game is among the first that actually accurately aims weapons, and it is possible to fire in all eight directions. The action buttons are also responsive. Jumping and shooting are no problem and it is even possible to jump and fire in the opposite direction.

The controls in Metal Slug 3 need to be precise because the game throws a lot of enemies at you at once. The only problem is that the joystick area is a little small and it is possible to miss the joystick motion. The vertical levels in Metal Slug 3 are also a lot more difficult to maneuver.

Offering multiplayer through Bluetooth and a Mission Mode besides the Arcade Mode, Metal Slug 3 has a lot of replayability. Metal Slug 3 is not the easiest game and requires some memorization when moving through levels, but it is one of the best arcade games ever.

Metal Slug 3 is a must-have game for arcade fans.
