Microsoft Expression Media is an asset management program developed by Microsoft. This program is a direct evolution from the iView MediaPro program which Microsoft acquired in 2006. Earlier, Microsoft released Expression Media as a standalone product, but after the release of the new Expression Studio package, it is only included in here. The main function of Expression Media is to catalog and organize media files, from pictures, audio and video files, although most of its functions are focused in pictures. With the program you can add metadata to the files. And the organization is simple even if the media files are saved in different folders. Although this program manages many files, it is obvious that it is meant for photographers and artists to be able to categorize their work, as some other file types lack previews sometimes. Besides organizing, you can convert your files into other formats, create a nifty slideshow of your files, etc. If you manage a big amount of digital media files, specially photographs or images then this program will allow you to have control of all your work.
