All you need, now in your pocket

Microsoft Office has launched Microsoft Office for Mobile, which can now be purchased for your use and enjoyment. From now on, users will have access to Word, Excel and PowerPoint through a single application.

Three-in-one, the Microsoft Office for Mobile

This time, Microsoft's goal is not only to draw in users from Google Drive or Kingston WPS Office. Microsoft Office for Mobile presents itself as a productivity solution focused on optimizing time and space via theintegration of the company’s three core programs: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. From now on, any of the three can be accessed from the same place, without having to install three different applications, which means obvious savings in terms of mobile storage.

Documents created in this application are saved by default in OneDrive. To access them, Microsoft has designed a search engine that displays both documents stored on the phone and in the cloud, which is an advantage if you don't remember where you put them. The app is also synchronized with the well-known "Sticky Notes".

One of the most interesting aspects of Microsoft Office for Mobile is the ability to create and edit documents from a single control panel, which has an intuitive main menu. Not at all like the hidden menu for documents, which takes you to a second screen when you select it, making the user experience a little more cumbersome.

The portable office

In addition to being able to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the app that integrates all three includes extra functions that aim to transform it into a real mobile office. These include the possibility to scan photographsand convert them into Word documents at the touch of a button, convert Word tables into documents that can be analyzed in Excel, create PDFs from your camera or any of the three integrated Office programs, or sign those same PDFs with your finger. Sharing documents and opening them from QR codes is easy too.

The way the app works is very accessible to all Microsoft Office users and is not too different from Microsoft Office for tablets.

Is it a good productivity solution?

Once you get used to the features of the navigation menu and the screen jumps in the document menu, Microsoft Office for Mobile won't hold anything secret in store for you . The functionality is not excessively different from the desktop software, and the adaptation of the programs to the reduced screen space is designed to beclean and simple.

Unfortunately, accessing the beta version is more complicated than using it once you have downloaded it, since it is necessary to join the official preview group.
