MoneyWell is a very neat personal finance assistant. It allows you to keep track of your income and expenses over time via a very nice user interface that is complete with graphics and lots of information. MoneyWell comes with a sample file that allows you to see how the app is intended to be used.
In MoneyWell, you can add as many sources of income as you want, and they are called "Income Buckets". They can be your salary, payments, or allowance, for example. You can name them whatever you want. You can also add Expense Buckets, which are the destination of your money. In the sample file, they use utilities, charity, and clothing as Expense Buckets, for example. You can then add transactions, which are basically the move of money from a bucket to the other. When you use the app a lot, you can access graphs that show how your money has moved through time. And it is very easy to see summaries of all your buckets and the movement of money between them.
Buckets are only a small feature, compared to all the ones that are available in MoneyWell. You should read the help to see all that this app has to offer. I personally liked the user interface, which gives access to all your transactions from a single window.
