Monosnap is a utility that enables you to take snapshots and record your activity on your Mac computer. The program also gives you access to various image editing tools, lets you define a wide range of hotkeys for quicker app manipulation, and provides you with multiple image and video sharing options.
This application lives in your Menu Bar from where you can access its Preferences panel for configuring the settings according to your needs. You can define the shortcut keys you need for immediately taking snapshots and starting/stopping recordings, select the preferred output formats, log in to your Monosnap account (the app will then upload your photos and videos to your account), etc.
The app comes with several flaws. For starters, it supports a limited amount of output formats for both screenshots (JPG or PNG) and video recordings (MP4 or GIF). The program also occasionally runs slow, especially when working with the built-in video recording tool.
Another disadvantage is that not all of Monosnap's features are for free. To be more exact, you need to make an in-app purchase to unlock the ability to store your screenshots in various types of Cloud service accounts. Still, the rest of the attributes come without a price. So, it isn't a big deal, especially if you don't need the aforementioned features while working with Monosnap.
This new app version comes with multiple bug fixes, new abilities as well as the support for macOS 10.13.
All in all, this program is a great and cheap solution for taking screenshots and recording desktop activity. It's easy-to-use and provides you with quality output files. You should give it a try.
