More Memory is an app that claims it can free up memory for you. It is a commercial app that currently costs 99 cents. It is very inexpensive and way cheaper than buying more RAM, so I went ahead and gave it a try. More Memory doesn't really have a graphical user interface. When you run it, you will see a window that tells you that it will start freeing up memory, and you can either click on "Proceed" or "Quit". If you click on "Proceed", you will notice a menubar icon wheel spinning. If you click on the icon, you will see the application status. Apparently, there are three different steps. The application seems to execute scripts to free the memory. And it claims that it can free up to 2 gigabytes of memory. That is a lot of memory. It is likely that your Mac will freeze for a few seconds when you are freeing up memory with this app. It froze about 5 or 7 seconds for me. And after the app completed this task, I saw that I had more memory available, but no where near 2 gigabytes. You can always open the Activity Monitor to check if the app works for you or not.
