Diabla was never the type of sharkess to settle down, or to pass up an offer no matter how unusual the case might seem. Following a rather queer case of finding a missing woman, another opportunity presents itself to her: a cheating spouse at a resort in the heart of Florida. But this isn't the Florida you're familiar with. It's 1923 after all. Will Diabla make it out alive, or will she succumb to the horrors of the swamp?

Murder at the Al Royale has you play as Diabla Vidocq, a hard-boiled lesbian detective as she navigates the peculiarities and the colorful cast of characters at the Al Royale Resort. The season's almost over, but there's still time for a final send off.

The Demo is a sort of prologue, introducing you to Diabla and the style of the game at the end of one adventure. Unlike many visual novels, which offer a more linear storyline, Murder at the Al Royale has branching paths with its dialog system, meaning the choices you make, the questions you ask, and the lies you tell can change the outcome of the game.
