Musicnizer is a music organizer that allows you to catalog your music collection. It offers plenty of options to keep your music organized in a database that includes photos, biographies, and other facts about your favorite artists. Musicnizer will simplify the way you usually access and search for music and is also a tool that can come in handy for those running a small music store.

As developers say, Musicnizer works as an encyclopedia sorting music and completing the catalog with additional information so you can learn more about the artists and albums you like. To start organizing your collection, the first thing you need to do is add music to the app's database. You can do this in a variety of ways: by title (that is manually), by barcode (for which you need to use your webcam), from audio CDs in your CD drive, or by scanning files and folders in your PC. It supports MP3, APE, FLAC, OGG Vorbis, among other formats. As you add music, the app connects to the web to download information such as the album cover, descriptions, awards, artists' bios, etc. From the application settings you can specify the type of information you want to download, as well the online source (such as Last.Fm) that will provide the information. If the info is not complete, you can add and edit fields. It is also possible to search and download photos related to an artist with the program's 'image search' function, which lets you select the pictures you want to keep in your database. Of course, there are lots of other things you can do with this application, for example, create backups of your database, create and print reports and statistics, use the loan manager to keep track of loaned items, and more.

The application interface looks like a file browser and making use of its different functions could not be easier. To the left there is a navigation panel organizing your music into albums, artists, genre, according to your ratings, etc. To the right, it displays the contents selected; you can play music using the in-built audio player, rate songs and albums, add comments, etc.

So if you have a giant, messy music collection that keeps growing every day, Musicnizer can really help you sorting it out and complete it with additional information. It is easy to use and offers a bunch of interesting options.

v4.3 [Jul 29, 2012]
In Musicnizer 4.3 you can add Audio CDs to existing albums, which can be helpful for adding albums that have more than one CD. On the "Edit info" page of the album, just click the green plus button to add a new empty disc (1). Then click the "..." button in the "Album path" field (2), select your Audio CD (of course, the CD should be inserted) (3) and click the "Add selected files" button (4). The disc will be added to the album.
In just the same way you can add album CDs stored as files on your HDD.
It is now easier to create backup copies of your music database. Choose "File" - "Create a backup copy", select a folder for saving backups (you only need to do this once), and press the "Create a backup copy" button.
If later you need to restore your database, choose "File" - "Restore database" and simply select a copy from the list of the available ones.
he backup-restore engine can be used for moving your music database from one computer to another. In this case you may also want to enable the "Copy pictures" option.
[+] Search for album covers and photos of artists with Google Images.
Musicnizer 4.3 makes adding album covers and photos of artists even more convenient. Right-click the page of an album or an artist and choose to download photos/covers from the context menu.
Track artists are shown on the album page.
There are several improvements in the Modern interface of the program, one of the most important is showing track artists on the album page:
[*] Adding discs to an existing album and linking tracks with files is easier now.
The controls for adding and finding files and tracks of Audio CDs were revised in Musicnizer 4.3. Now you can add tracks from files, from an Audio CD, re-link tracks after moving your files, etc. using the "..." button next to the "Album path" field (the first screenshot on this page shows adding tracks from an Audio CD). Unnecessary buttons were removed to make the interface more clear and intuitive.
[*] Improved plugins to import information from other music organizers.
Import plugins were updated to match the latest changes in the corresponding music organizer programs. Import your existing music collection into Musicnizer easily!
[*] Improved support for M4a files.
The new version of the program supports M4a files better, it will extract information from the files on which Musicnizer 4.2 might fail.
[*] Improved adding albums from files.
Musicnizer 4.3 includes several optimizations that make adding albums from files even easier. The program now recognizes more information from tags, works better with albums having multiple CDs, etc.
[-] Bug fixes.
Musicnizer 4.3 was extensively tested, and various small bugs were eliminated. If you find a bug or unexpected behavior in the program, please contact us using the support form or our forum.
