myTuner Radio 2.1

myTuner Radio allows you to listen to a long list of radio stations worldwide. Likewise, it supports listening to podcasts. The application is quite unobtrusive, it is available from the Menu Bar and continue to play audio without using any screen space.

Its interface has tabs that let you go straight to the desired feature. For instance, you can browse a list of stations of a given country as well podcasts and charts. Likewise, the tool lets you create a list of your favorite stations and keeps a record of those you have recently dialed. Fortunately, you cannot only listen to audio but record it as well.

Good news is that the app uses myTuner services to provide access to over 30 000 radio stations in more than 120 countries. To search for a given station, you need to pick the desired country from the list and enter a keyword. Then, you will receive almost instant results.

Although the app can also search for podcasts, it is a shame that it may show unrelated results at times. Likewise, I regret to say that the tool does not let you schedule recording or listening to your favorite radio shows.

All in all, myTuner Radio is a great choice if you like to listen to the radio while you are doing something else on your computer. Fortunately, there is a free version of this product available from the Mac Store. However, it shows advertisement, which you can avoid by purchasing the Pro version instead.
