Narrator is a text-to-speech and dictation utility designed by Mariner Software for Mac users. By working with this program you can hear the content of your text files read out loud by Mac's default voice profiles and export the audio content to your local directories.
This application might come in handy to people who are trying to improve their word pronunciation or just need to listen a novel being read by a Mac voice profile. Narrator comes with a straightforward interface, allows you to paste text content or import documents from your local drives, and lets you choose from various voice profiles.
The program also provides you with many speech settings which you can easily configure according to your needs. You can adjust the sound volume, pitch and inflection level, and select female or male voice profiles.
Furthermore, if you're happy with the reading's accuracy, you can export the audio content to your iTunes library or as files with AAC format. Another thing I liked about this app was the Tell Me A Joke feature.
To conclude, Narrator is a simple yet very helpful Mac application. This program provides you with many useful features, is very simple to handle, and comes with a fair price.
