NZBVortex is intended for downloading data from Usenet servers. It is good that the application can transfer data very efficiently, using multiple threads with a minimum impact on system resources. In this respect, the tool can minimize the volume of data to transfer by discriminating unnecessary parts.

The application’s interface resembles that of other download managers, so it is unlikely that you have any problems using it. The workflow is very simple: you just need to create a download task by providing the link and let the tool do the rest. There are buttons to pause, resume or cancel tasks. Besides, the panel on the right allows you to explore the list of the files being downloaded as part of the currently selected task.

Probably the most difficult part of working with Usenet is finding the intended resources, which is why NZBVortex’s built-in search feature is so gladly welcomed. Good news is that it supports various Usenet engines, like Binsearch, NZBClub, NZBIndex and NZBKing. What is more, it is possible to refine your results by using filters. Besides, thanks to the tool’s integration with NZBVortex Cloud, you will not waste any time downloading spam and junk data. Another choice consists in monitoring specific posts via news feeds.

In short, NZBVortex is a great choice for those who still prefer to share resources via Usenet. In this regard, compared with other download managers, its main limitation is that it does not support downloading resources other than those shared in Usenet networks. Fortunately, there is a trial version you can download from the developer’s site. Then, if you are satisfied with it, you can purchase it from both the developer or the Mac App Store.
