Objektiv is a Menu Bar application that provides you with a solution for changing your default web browser. This program comes as an alternative to heading to the Preferences panel of a web browser to set it as a default utility for visiting websites.
The tool lets you define a global hotkey for immediately displaying a window on your desktop from where you can choose your new default web browser. You can find several useful hints in the Preferences panel of the Objektiv app and easily configure its settings according to your needs.
In the main menu of the application, you will notice a list of applications. Simply select the new default web browser from the list and the program will immediately apply the necessary changes. Unfortunately, not all of the listed apps are web browsers. In my testing, Objektiv not only displayed the name of the web browsers I have installed on my Mac, but it also showed other types of apps like video converters and download managers.
Another bad aspect is that nothing happens when you use the hotkeys listed on the main menu of the applications. You can only change your default web browser by using your mouse for selecting the app in question.
In conclusion, this program comes in handy only if you change your default browser often. Personally, I'll continue changing it from the Preferences panels of my web browsers.
