oCam is mainly designed to record whatever happens on your computer screen. In this respect, it allows grabbing the full screen or just a section of it. Luckily, the application has an intuitive interface, so it is appropriate for most users. The tool supports various ways to define a recording region. For instance, you can set a target window or draw a rectangle to limit the area. Besides, you can configure the recording area to move along with the mouse cursor. Fortunately, the program can also record audio internally or from a microphone.
One of the advantages of this application is the possibility of using various effects, including watermarks and webcam overlays. It is also great to be able to change the way mouse actions are shown by using click and highlight effects. Moreover, as it supports both internal and external codecs, it supports a wide range of output video formats which, certainly, gives the program the additional value.
All in all, oCam is particularly useful to record gaming experiences. However, it’s definitely not the best application of its type. For example, it doesn't allow recording just keyframes or performing any editing actions. Since the tool is freeware, it can help you save some bucks. However, if you need something more sophisticated, you should probably keep looking for something else..
