Office Password Recovery Magic 

Office Password Recovery Magic is a brute force tool for Microsoft Office files. Supported formats are *.xls, *.ppt, *.mdb, *.doc and similar Office 2007 formats.

We get a small program which is simple and good looking. An Office file can have two passwords, one for opening and the other for modifying (read-only). The program can scan for read-only passwords. Brute forcing is the most primitive method of cracking passwords. The technique consists in trying all the combinations of numbers and letters in the keyboard in sequential order. If we know the number of characters in our password, we may specify it. We can also specify the minimum and maximum values for the length of password. The problem with brute forcing is the time taken to crack a password. You will leave your computer ON for days or years without result. Time depends on the length of the password.

If we have forgotten the password, and know that it is a word usually found in a dictionary, a dictionary method is also available. There is a text file given with the program which contains a small dictionary. We can also find good dictionary files from the Internet and use it. Here, the program tries all the words one by one until it is successful.

I really didn’t like the program. It has very few options to customize. It only has two methods of cracking a password which are inefficient. I wouldn't recommend this program unless it is freeware.
