OneWaySync helps you synchronize data between pairs of folders, which is essential for keeping updated backups of your work. The application makes mirror copies of the original folder (one way), which gives it its name. Unfortunately, two-way synchronization is not supported. However, to compensate for that, you will probably find this tool easier to use than other similar apps.
OneWaySync has an easy-to-use interface. You should start by creating the pairs of folders you want to synchronize. To do this, you can simply drag and drop the folders to the spaces labeled Source and Destination. Good news is that you can set as many as 14 pairs, which is normally enough.
You can also perform additional configuration. For instance, it is possible to keep a log of the operations and copy hidden files. There is another option you should pay attention to: If you enable the Delete on Destination option, the app automatically erases those files in the target folder that are no longer present in the source.
Luckily, the application allows using filters so that not all the files in the source directory are synced. In this respect, you may choose to copy specific file types as videos and photographs. Likewise, it is possible to use events, such as month, year, day, hour and minute, to tag the copied files accordingly. This is also possible for playlists.
All in all, OneWaySync is an easy way to keep the data in multiple folders synchronized. Regrettably, as seen, it does not support other types of synchronization. Although it does not have a built-in scheduler, this defficiency can be overcome thanks to its support of scripts. The product is very light and can be downloaded from the Mac Store at a very reasonable price.
