You can lose your data for various reasons. You might delete it by accident, deal with a virus infection which causes data loss, format the wrong drive, etc. Ontrack EasyRecovery Professional is a program that helps you restore your lost files, no matter which one of the aforementioned events has caused the unfortunate data loss.
Its interface is pretty straightforward. Simply choose the type of data you wish to recover, select the scan location, and let the program look for your lost files. You can scan internal drives, USB sticks, CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, etc. At first, the utility will make a quick scan. If it fails to locate any lost data that can be recovered, the tool automatically starts a deep scan. Even though it might take a while to complete the deep scan, the wait is definitely rewarding. In my testing, Ontrack EasyRecovery Professional was able to find over 500 files on a USB stick. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to restore any of the found data as I used the trial version of the tool.
A great aspect is that you can preview the found images or pre-listen songs before launching the recovery process. You can also use the integrated search tool to immediately locate a certain file that needs to be recovered.
Even though you can find cheaper solutions for recovering lost data on your PC, I still think it's worth at least giving it a try. It's compatible with many data storage containers, helps you recovery multiple types of files, and works 100%.
