Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper is a DVD/Blu-Ray ripper for the Mac. The app lets you copy your DVD or BR movies to your hard drive in a variety of different formats. Of course, the most popular formats such as AVI, DivX, Xvid, MP4, H.264, FLV, etc are supported, but there are HD formats as well, such as MOV and MKV. This makes sense, since why would you rip a Blu-ray movie and save it into an FLV file. The developers of this app claim that it can copy encrypted movies, and that is a feature that you absolutely need if you want to copy your Blu-ray movies.
Although the graphical interface doesn't look great, it manages to be intuitive. Every feature is easily accessible and the interface seemed smooth in my time with this app.
Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper lets you add subtitles to your files, but you can only add one subtitle track to each file. There is a very nice video editor that allows you to trim and crop your videos, and add effects and watermarks.
In my testing, I used a DVD movie. I selected a single title, trimmed it and chose a subtitle file. The resulting file looked great and subtitles were sharp and readable.
One thing that I noticed while running this app is that my Mac's fans were going crazy. When I checked the Activity Monitor, this app was using almost 90% of my CPU, even when idling. That is extremely weird. I am not saying it is this app's fault, but it never happens with other converters, so keep an eye on that.
Mac OS X application which extracts the main movie from a DVD, and reauthors it to fit onto a 4.7Gb single layer DVD-R.
We don't have a description for the Trouble in Paradise app yet.
