pCloud is a desktop client that allows you to use the cloud storage services with the same name. The application is very unobtrusive and resides in the menu bar from where you can access its settings. One of the best things about this tool is that it seamlessly integrates with Finder. In this respect, you can access your cloud folders just as if they were in your local disk.

Since pCloud is just a client, most of its advantages are logically derived from those of the services that power it. I have to say that pCloud is my favorite online storage service. In this respect, it is excellent that it mounts a virtual drive to extend your machine’s capacity. Besides, it supports synchronizing files by simply copying them to the desired folder. Likewise, it allows creating a crypto folder in which data is kept using zero-knowledge encryption.

There is another feature that I frequently use: remote uploads. Thus, instead of uploading files from your machine, you can simply provide a URL to any downloadable file. This way, you will not lose track of important contents. Besides, I find that the opportunity of automatically uploading screenshots to my pCloud account is very useful as well.

If you open the Preferences window from the app’s icon in the Menu Bar, you can configure such things as transfer speed, notifications and crypto folder. Likewise, you may set the client to automatically run at startup.

All in all, pCloud is definitely my preferred service of its type and having a client to integrate it with my system is simply great. Regrettably, unlike other tools, it does not provide document integration. Moreover, synchronizing a long list of files via drag-and-drop operations may lead to data loss. The product is just as client and it is completely free. Likewise, you can use up to 10 Gb of storage space at no cost. If you need more, you should acquire one of the plans available.
