PDF Reader for Windows 7 is a simple and lightweight application aimed to replace such popular tools like Adobe Reader. Contrary to what its name suggests, this program neither works only under Windows 7, as it is compatible with all Windows version available at the moment nor serves only for PDF reading, as it also includes some basic conversion functions and extra tools.

To be totally honest, the program's user interface leaves much to be desired, as it is quite outdated and rudimentary. Most of the available tools and functions are easily accessible through the toolbar located at the top side of the main window, including controls for the page navigation, page rotation, zoom in and out, different page size options and a special tool called "Cropping tool". Other functions, however, need to be launched directly from the program's menu bar like the slideshow view, smart bookmarks addition, rotation among night, low-blue, airplane and normal reading modes, and enabling the full-screen mode, which is nothing more than an alternative way to maximize the program's window.

As for the cropping tool, it allows you to select a specific area of your browsing document and copy it either as text or as an image. Moreover, the program is capable of converting your PDF documents into other formats, especially image ones such JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP and WMF. Unfortunately, this feature is very limited as you cannot configure absolutely any parameter for the conversion, and only the current browsing page is converted.

Although PDF Reader for Windows 7 comes with some interesting and helpful functions, I cannot really find one that surpasses the standard functions included in much more renowned PDF readers such as Adobe Reader, which includes an attractive user interface and is also free. Therefore, there's no reason for which I would recommend any user to change his/her default PDF reader with this one. However, if you need to quickly convert a specific page of a PDF document into some of the supported graphics formats, this could be a good option to consider.
