Phlo is a Menu Bar utility that comes as an alternative to using the search tool from your web browser to look for information online. This application can search any details you need by using a wide variety of search engines. To be more exact, if it can't locate the info you need with Google's engine, it will use the one from Amazon or eBay and provide you with the data you require.
To reveal the search bar of the application simply right-click over the app's icon from your Menu Bar. All you need to do to show its main menu is to left-click the icon. If you ask me, this is a bit backwards. Normally, you'd need to right-click to reveal a main menu and not the interface of an app.
After you configure the program's settings according to your needs (add or remove search sites, define a global hotkey for revealing main window, etc.), you can start using the search tool. You will receive suggestions and be able to choose which search service to use. Then, simply click over the correct suggestion and the results will be displayed in your default web browser.
So, you don't need much computer experience in order to use this tool. Plus, it uses a very small amount of CPU resources while running on your status bar.
My only issue with this program is the fact that it isn't completely free. You need to make an in-app purchase to unlock the Sync feature.
Still, I'd say it's worth giving it a try if you're looking for an easier way to look for information online.
