PhotoRescue is a Mac utility created to help you find and restore lost or deleted pictures from various types of data storage containers. This program supports a wide variety of image and video formats, allows you to preview the found data before launching the recovery process, and comes with a reasonable price.
The tool enables you to recover lost images from the memory cards of your digital camera, USB sticks, etc. Simply choose the type of task you want to complete and follow the given steps.
I gave 2 out of 5 stars to this program mostly because it didn't work well while testing it on my Mac. To be more exact, the utility occasionally slowed down the performance of other running programs, especially while scanning the selected device. It also took a while to complete the deep scan and I wasn't able to restore any of the found data because I was using the trial version of the tool.
Furthermore, PhotoRescue is missing options to save and load scan results or a built-in search tool (for locating files in scan results list), features which are available in other image recovery tools. Another thing I didn't like was the appearance of its interface which made the impression that its design didn't get an upgrade for a while.
Still, this program has some useful advantages. So, it's up to you to decide, based on your requirements, if it's worth giving it a try or look for a different photo recovery tool for your Mac.
