The name makes the purpose of this program quite clear from the beginning: it's a tool to help you download entire photo albums from the popular Picasa Web image hosting and sharing service, currently owned by Google.
Picasa Album Downloader is an open source application that won't cost you anything to download, install, and use. It's also quite easy to work with, though its interface could've used some improvements such as a “Back” button that would take you back to the program's start window once it's finished downloading albums. Also, it would've been nice if it came with an explanation that tells you that you have to provide the user ID (the numeric one), so that the available albums of that user are listed and offered for download, and not the user name. Anyway, for an application that hasn't been updated in 3 years, I was rather surprised to see it work as intended. Picasa Album Downloader managed to correctly find the available albums for the entered user ID, and downloaded the ones that I selected quickly and without any problems.
To conclude, Picasa Album Downloader is a nice tool that works flawlessly despite its small flaws, and best of all, it's also free.
