PicoSoft was especially created to help hardware developers build circuits diagrams for Pico controllers. The program is also able to simulate these diagrams in order to find possible errors and calculate controller output. It includes a quite large library of Pico controllers and additional expansion circuits which you can afterward connect to your computer through a COM port.

Obviously, the purpose of PicoSoft is quite narrow. The program requires a great deal of electronics-related information and is recommended to advanced users only. A great advantage of PicoSoft is that it includes a large Help manual that contains comprehensive information regarding the program features. Also, the application offers access to a “beginner’s course” that includes various lessons for a better understanding the functionality of PicoSoft.

The graphical user-interface of PicoSoft is well organized. It displays three panels for selecting the contoller type, editing its diagram, and simulating it. An additional panel will help you create a connection between the controller and your computer.

PicoSoft offers access to a lot of settings for both the application itself and also for controller configuration. It is a handy tool for anyone working with Pico controllers.

v6.22.3451 [May 11, 2008]
Support for new functions in Pico GFX Revision B
Export and import of operand comments and notes
Automatic comparison of operand comments of the Pico-Link operands of the circuit diagrams of all stations in a project
More convenient circuit diagram input in Circuit Diagram View:
Direct entry of operands by key combinations such as "2"+"R"+"N"+"1"+"2" for 2RN12 or "Q"+"5" for Q05.
Toggling the selected function of a contact between break and make contact using the space bar.
Dragging connection lines with Shift+Cursor key. Deleting connection lines with Ctrl+Cursor key.
Direct call of Clipboard functions for individual circuit diagram elements using Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X and DEL without selecting the area beforehand.
The focus switch from the Circuit Diagram window to the Properties field is no longer automatic but explicit via the ENTER key or by left-clicking a circuit diagram element. This change allows other functions in the circuit diagram window such as scrolling with the mouse wheel.
Improved error output in the plausibility check: optional output of warnings, jump to error location by double-click
Communication via the serial COM interface with 38400 baud and 57600 baud (for 1760 Pico GFX using 1760-USB-GFX)
Support of up to 32 COM ports:
Only those COM ports are listed in the Connection dialog of the Communication View that are assigned on the PC.
The list is updated during the runtime (it can be manually updated with the F5 function key).
Display of temperature and analog input values in the simulation and online view
More operands can now be listed in the Oscilloscope View:
Analog input values for Pico L12/18/20 ser.B,
and the operands ID, MB, MW, IA, QA for ID, MB, MW, IA, QA für Pico GFX
