Piezo is a simple, nicely-designed audio recording tool for Mac. You can use it to capture the sounds from your default browser, iTunes, video player or a microphone that's being connected to your computer. The program provides you with the quality audio files you need within seconds.
The main window of the utility looks like a vintage radio and gives you access to simple to configure output settings. You can choose the audio source (browser, microphone, etc.) and the preferred output format. Afterwards, all you need to do is click the red button and let the app complete its job. You can use the Command+R key combination to start or stop recordings. The application will save the quality recording to the folder you selected from the Preferences panel.
A disadvantage is that the program supports only 2 output formats: M4A and MP3. So, popular formats like AIFF, M4R or WAV aren't supported by Piezo.
Another thing that bothered me while testing this app was the fact that I needed to restart Mozilla Firefox in order to start a browser audio recording.
However, Piezo provides you with a quick and efficient solution for recording audio content on your Mac. It's very simple to configure, offers you quality output files, and comes with a fair price.
