Platform 8 is a psychological horror game with a straightforward premise. This indie title follows the mechanisms of a walking simulator, with players needing to go through numerous train cars to find an exit, all while keeping an eye on supernatural anomalies that’ll stop them.
As a sequel to the highly acclaimed Exit 8, Platform 8 showcases many of the same elements as its predecessor. As already mentioned, your goal is to find a way out while keeping an eye on your surroundings. The anomalies, if not dealt with correctly, can reset your progress.
While this game is faster-paced compared to its predecessor, it retains the same eerie and atmospheric charm. Unfortunately, the overall content feels somewhat lacking. The game's low difficulty level allows some players to breeze through it in a single sitting, making it lose part of its edge.
Despite its shortcomings, Platform 8 offers a memorable experience that effectively captures the unsettling ambiance of liminal spaces. It's a great pick for those looking for a short, tense, and enjoyable game that can be completed in a brief play session.
