Pool! lets you play a short game of 8-ball on your Mac. The game was originally released for the iPhone and iPad, and it has been available for Mac for some time now. It is currently one of the most popular free applications on the Mac App Store. The game is rather basic. You can play against a computer or a human opponent. You take turns to put your assigned balls into any of the six pockets. When you are done with your assigned balls, you need to do the same with the black ball as well. Whoever that does that first wins the match.
The controls are very easy. You can determine the direction of your shot by clicking and dragging on the pole. The power of the shot is adjusted with a slider on the side of the table. When you are ready to take the shot, you can click on the "Shot" button. There are no ways to adjust where you want to hit the white ball, though, which leaves out a lot of the real mechanics of a pool game. I like the simplicity of the game, though. It is a nice time killer. However, users looking for a challenge would probably want to look for another pool game.
Pool! lets you change the appearance of the game table. There are a handful of designs that you can choose by clicking on the "Table' button.
