Precious Disk is a simple application that scans your Mac and cleans it of large files. This way, you will gain back much of your computer’s disk space and boost your system's performance.

With a straightforward approach, the program helps you find the location of big files and offers to move them to the trash in order to regain precious free space. The interface is modern, attractive, and intuitive. First, you need to select the computer’s component that you intend to scan. You can enable a full scan of the hard disk, or you can limit the procedure to specific folders. Scanning for removable devices – like external disks, memory sticks, USB drives, etc. – is also supported. The length of the scanning task will depend on the storage capacity of the selected drives and folders. However, you will appreciate the multi-threaded ability of this tool, which allows you to enable multiple scans at once.

The moment the scanning process is over, the structure of the selected drive is displayed as a pie chart. Each directory within the chart is colored differently, so that you can see at a glance the folders that store the largest amount of information. The slider positioned at the bottom of the preview panel lets you control the folders display. Therefore, you can ask the program to show only the folders that are bigger than a specific size, leaving smaller folders in the background, without cluttering your view. Exploring the content of a specific folder is done easily – just click on it. As a result, the utility displays the files within the selected folder and lets you move to the trash those large items you consider unnecessary.

In short, Precious Disk offers a simple solution to free up valuable disk space. The colored chart display of the drive structure makes the program attractive and easy to manage. However, the colors of the folders are provided as is, regardless of your preferences.
