Project KickStart is an adequate project management program for smaller projects, that perhaps have one project manager making the decisions, and doesn’t require a lot of collaboration of multiple managers, team members or a CEO. The software is very good for doing basic project planning and organization, and it integrates nicely with other applications like PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, ACT!, MindManager, etc.
The software breaks project creation into eight steps: Name, Phases, Goals, Similar, People, Obstacle, Assign, and Task. After naming your project, you plan out the phases to completion. If you've never had to start a project from scratch before, you can use the Phase Library to assist your thinking. After these first two steps, you define your goals. The Goals Library showcases ten included project examples. If any steps are similar to your project, you can drag and drop tasks from the example into the Phases part of your own project.
An outstanding feature of Project KickStart is the simplistic user interface, which is organized into tabs. The Project Management Wizard walks you through creating a project plan. Furthermore, Project KickStart lets you customize and print Gantt charts and other reports.
