QuickCast is a simple to use recording tool for Mac that enables you to capture the screen activity with ease. This program comes in handy when creating a video tutorial for an app or a game walkthrough, when presenting bugs and screen objects that you can't explain using other methods, and much more.
After you launch the application, you can access the application's utilities from its Menu Bar icon. You get to choose from two types of video recordings: Quick and Advanced; the first one comes with pre-defined output configurations while the second allows you to choose the options that match your needs.
When opting for the Advanced mode, you can enter the proper video resolution, configure sound settings, choose to display mouse clicks, and select the destination folder for the resulted video.
However, the program brings two important disadvantages: it supports only one output format (MP4) and you can't record for more than 5 minutes.
In my opinion, you can find more adequate solutions for recording the screen activity. Even though QuickCast offers high-quality output and is very simple to handle, the aforementioned flaws might stay in the way of getting the results you desire.
