QuickScale is a simple utility that enables you to resize your pictures with minimum effort. The image editor works with many photo formats, supports drag-and-drop actions, and immediately provides you with the quality output files you need, without slowing down your Mac.
You can import as many image files as you like and choose between four resizing modes (Normal, Stretch, Boxed or Crop). The only thing left for you to do is to select the proper output format, and that's it. Click the "Start" button and just wait for the results. So, the application was created in such way that even a user with little computer experience can easily get the job done.
Another great thing is that the utility gives you access to an option to watermark the resized image before generating the output file.
Even though the app supports many input formats (JPG, GIF, PSD, PNG, TIFF, etc.), it comes short with the list of output profiles (JPG, PNG, TIF, and GIF). Still, this aspect isn't a big deal as the supported output formats are quite popular and can be opened in a wide range of Mac apps.
What bothered me was that on the download page of the app it says QuickScale is free, an aspect which isn't completely true. You need to make an in-app purchase in order to have access to the full version of the utility.
To conclude, it's worth installing this tool on your Mac if the aforementioned aspect doesn't mean much to you.
