Qupzilla is an open-source multi-plattform web browser. There are two things people consider when choosing a web browser: speed and usability. However, besides these two basic aspects, other characteristics are taken into account, such as stability and the use of hardware resources.

In terms of speed, Qupzilla is comparable to other browsers that use WebKit as layout rendering engine, such as Safari. There’s also no noticeable difference in speed either if we compare it with Google Chrome and Opera, which use Blink, a fork of WebKit. On the other hand, its interface is quite similar to those of most browsers, which makes it very easy to use by everyone. It’s also quite customizable and you can even change its appearance by changing themes. There’s a speed dial that lets you open frequently visited pages without much effort. Moreover, it has the advantage of unifying bookmarks, browsing history and RSS reader in a single window.

QupZilla has other features to boast about. For instance, it has built-in AdBlock and download manager. Furthermore, it has an omnibar, from which you can perform direct searches, using a custom search engine. Finally, like most other browsers, it allows private browsing.

All in all, QupZilla is fast and easy to use. It has the advantage of using less resources than Chrome, IE and Firefox. Besides, it also has both installable and portable versions. Unfortunately, the program stopped working several times. Although it could be an alternative to other more popular browsers, these frequent crashes prevent me from deciding to make it my favorite.
