Recasto is a simple application that converts PDF documents into image files and the other way round. With a straightforward conversion approach, this application lets you process batches of files, so the conversion of multiple files can be completed faster and with less effort.

The utility has a minimalist interface. You will find it very intuitive, as all buttons and elements provide tooltips to clear your uncertainties regarding their functionalities. Adding files to convert is done easily, either by drag-and-drop or by browsing for files from within the program. The tool doesn't include a preview window - the files are displayed in the conversion list as thumbnails, yet you can reveal the files in Finder to check their content.

Converting PDF documents into image files doesn't require neither an advanced knowledge nor complicated procedures. The results can be saved with a custom DPI as PNG, JPEG, BMP, and TIFF image files. Recasto will create a folder for each PDF you convert, so you can have all resulting image files in one place. Password-protected PDFs are also supported, yet you need to unlock them with the right code to prevent them from being skipped in the conversion process.

The conversion of image files into PDF documents is just as easy. Besides adjusting the DPI, you can rotate and flip the picture before enabling the conversion. In addition, you can merge multiple image files into a single PDF document.
