Remotix VNC & RDP allows connecting to various workstations, independently of the operating system they are running, in order to view their screens, perform monitoring activities, transfer data and share clipboard contents. In this respect, this tool is part of a system that also includes installing agent apps on the workstations. Similarly, there is the possibility to use Remotix Hub, a solution that is absolutely web-based.
The application is powered by Remotix cloud services, which means that it requires an Internet connection to work properly. Thus, in contrast with other solutions that are based on a local server, Remotix generates Internet traffic. Regrettably, this poses additional risks related to giving a third party access to your machines. The tool supports both VNC and RDP connections, although VNC connections may feel somewhat sluggish.
The tool is very simple to use. Good news is that it can automatically detect available connections. However, it is necessary for you to provide the necessary authentication data. In the case of remote machines, you need to do this manually by entering their IP address. Once a connection to the remote computer is made, you can pick either of two modes: Active or Observer to access its desktop.
All in all, Remotix VNC & RDP is an excellent way to monitor computer usage, provide assistance and manage workstations remotely. For the product to work as expected, you need to purchase a license from Personal and Professional. Both licenses support the same features, but a Professional license is necessary if you intend to use the product for business purposes.
