Many of us have a collection of old and beloved games that we cannot play anymore, but refuse to throw into the garbage bin. RetroArch is a program that lets us revive all those old games and enjoy them once more.

The program has a simple interface, somehow akin to the old DOS interface. From there, you can choose which action you need to perform. You can run content directly from different directories, such as your start menu. Also, you can select the drive where the content is stored, such as your hard drive or an external device, such as an USB or even a CD or DVD. If you want to load content directly from a disc, you will need to load a core first. These can be downloaded from the program's interface. You can get only those cores you need to play your content. For example, there are cores for DOS, Nintendo, Commodore, Atari, and more. There is also the option of loading your content first, and then choosing the appropriate core.

The program also lets you download the entire content of a disc into your hard drive to make it more readily available. You can have the program permanently updated using the Online Updater option.

Among the disadvantages I fond were that one needs to know which core is needed before loading a game from a disc. Also, I couldn't play some DOS games. Finally, I tried some old Win95 games, and they didn't work either. I was disappointed.

Nevertheless, if you have old games and want to give them a new life, you may find this program useful.
