RHVAC 8 is the latest version of this program, which is a solution designed to help you to manage the complex task of designing acclimatization systems. The work is organized in projects, with which you will associate the so-called systems. In turn, systems can be divided into zones which will include rooms - the calculation units. A system can manage large projects with up to 1000 rooms. Keep in mind, though, that the demo version only will allow you to open projects with up to 3 rooms.

The interface is pretty typical of any other Windows application, with menus, toolbars and windows. On the bottom of the screen you will find a navigation bar which will help you to toggle between open windows, mostly when you have a lot on your desktop. The first step – the data entry – is usually the most tedious and critical part of the process since an error there will affect the results later and generally there are lots of data to be entered. RHVAC provides a graphical interface for this step, if you prefer this method over the regular keyboard typing method. This specific tool is called the Drawing Board and, in a few words, will allow you to enter the required information for calculation right from a .dxf file of the building plans.

v8.1 [Jun 1, 2008]
Here are some of the new features included in this version of Rhvac.
Based on Manual J Eighth Edition: This version of Rhvac is based on the eighth edition of ACCA's Manual J, and includes all new material libraries and more precise calculation methods.
Favorite, Recent and Custom Materials: You can now create your own lists of favorite roofs, favorite walls, etc.. Favorites can include standard as well as your own custom materials that you create. A list of your most recently selected materials is also maintained.
Global Material Database.
New Popup Material Selection Windows: Allows you to quickly select from the large selection of available materials.
More Options for Each Glass.
More Precise Duct Load Factors.
Calculation Method Option: Automatically determines the optimum method to use for compliance with Manual J's recommendations for system and room level load calculation methods (Average or Peak method).
Adequate Exposure Diversity Test Graphical Report.
Psychrometric Chart Graphical Report.
Winter Humidification Load: Allows you to specify an indoor relative humidity in the winter in order to calculate the required gallons per day of water to be added, as well as the sensible loss due to the device.
Hot Water Piping Load: Lets you enter the characteristics of the hot water distribution pipe in order to calculate its sensible loss.
Blower Power Sensible Gain: When the cooling equipment's rated capacity does not account for the heat gain due to the blower motor and fan, this input allows you to directly enter the wattage of the blower as a supply side load.
Adequate Exposure Diversity Check: An hour-by-hour calculation is done on the glass sensible gain to determine if the system meets the criteria for Manual J's Adequate Exposure Diversity test.
