RouteBuddy is an offline map program that comes in handy when planning trips searching locations from around the world or calculating distances between two map points. The application features an interactive map, brings you a helpful search tool, and provides you with an easy way to manage your favorite routes.

Besides helping you plan routes for your trips, this utility also enables you to measure distances between two locations from the map, easily find places of interest, like restaurants or museums, and so much more.

In my testing, the program worked flawlessly. It used minimum CPU resources, helped me easily manage my favorite routes, and immediately calculated the distances between two selected map points.

My only issue with this program is that it features a help manual that isn't as comprehensive as a beginner would need. However, it gives you direct access to an online help guide.

All in all, RouteBuddy is a great addition to your collection of Mac applications if you're the type of person who travels a lot and wish to easily manage your routes. Otherwise, using an online route planner might be better and cheaper choice.

v3.5 [Aug 6, 2012]
- This release contains over 60 improvements, including a new style editor for routes/tracks and support for OS X 10.8's "Gatekeeper" security system.
- It also adds a new, more efficient, model for representing routes. Points in a route are now contained within the route itself, rather than being separate waypoints in the main library. New routes use this model by default, and existing routes can be "consolidated" to convert them to the new system.
- These changes require that the RouteBuddy library be upgraded to a new format. Your current library will be backed up automatically into a "Previous Libraries" folder, in case you wish to revert to an older version of RouteBuddy. We also recommend that you back up your system regularly.
- This release is a free update to all existing RouteBuddy 3.x customers, and is available at a special upgrade price to all 1.x and 2.x customers. To obtain this upgrade price, please contact [email protected] with your current RouteBuddy licence code. Application:
