Cloud storage for Samsung users

Samsung Cloud is a free cloud storage service for Samsung users. It allows you to backup, restore, and sync content stored on your device. With this, you can free up local storage space and ensure that you won't lose any important data.

However, note that Samsung Cloud cut back on some of its offered services. It withdrew its ability to store photos and files off-device. With this, you can only store lightweight items, including contacts, calendars, and notes. Automatic photo and file syncs are now supported by Microsoft OneDrive instead but only if you take action before the termination.

What can you do with the Samsung Cloud?

Samsung Cloud is the official cloud service for its devices. As with other cloud storage providers, it allows you to save files stored in your device's memory and protect them should anything happen. Moreover, it improves security as it protects thousands of files conveniently and simply. Even better, you don't have to worry about possible loss since it easily allows you to restore data in seconds.

Using the app is easy, only requiring you to select every item you want to save and click the Backup button. Then, you only need to wait for the upload process to end. Then, you can access the file on any Samsung device as long as you log in with the same credentials you use for the upload. The same process goes for restoring saved files to your device.

However, as noted, the app no longer supports the saving of photos and files. This function is now supported by Microsoft OneDrive. Users need to migrate their media to avoid permanent deletion. Anyone migrating will have 15GB of free storage instead of the usual 5GB. Additionally, users who hold a premium storage subscription will have their plans canceled. Don't worry, though. You may receive a refund for it.

Is the app good?

Overall, Samsung Cloud offers a convenient way for Samsung users to free up their local storage. With this, you can easily send your data to the cloud. However, as it no longer saves photos and resource-heavy files, creating an account seems useless. If you are required to use OneDrive for your photos, it will be more efficient to use the service for all files instead of using two services.
