Screenmailer is a utility designed for Mac users who wish to easily create and share video recordings. Unlike many other video recording tools, this application provides you with an original solution for distributing your clips: offers you a URL to the output video that you can conveniently share with the your friends.
Before using this program you need to create a personal account on the app's main window. All of your recordings will be saved automatically in this account.
You can capture the entire screen or just an area from your desktop. The app lets you choose the proper audio source for the recording or disable the audio capture if necessary. After you complete your recording, the program will offer you a URL to the video file which you can share with your friends. You can also download the clip by pasting the URL in your default browser, adding ".MP4" to the link, and saving the file to your local directories.
I have only 2 bad things to say about this program. First of all, it supports only one output format (MP4). Secondly, it lacks the option to control the video recorder with shortcut keys (keys for starting, pausing, resuming, and stopping the video recording).
Even though the aforementioned flaws might seem important, I still consider Screenmailer one of the best video recording tools for Mac, mostly because of its ability to immediately share the clips. Plus, it's very simple to handle.
Hence, I think you should give this app a try if you're looking for a simple and effective video recording utility.
