ScreenSend 1.0

ScreenSend is a nice screen capture utility for the Mac. It allows you to take screen captures of a region of your screen or the entire screen. It runs on the Menubar, from where you can access it. One of the good things about this app is that it can upload screen captures to the web automatically after you take one. This is a paid service, though, which costs $3 a month or $29 a year. If you don't want to upload the screen captures, you can simply save them on your hard drive. By default, they will be saved on your Desktop in a folder named "ScreenSend". The format used is PNG, which provides great quality.

To start a screen capture, you can go to the ScreenSend menu on your menubar and select "Screenshot". Two new windows will appear. One is the screen capture settings and the other one shows the area of the screen of which a capture will be made. You can drag and drop the latter to adjust the area, or select "Full screen" from the settings window to capture the whole screen.

In my testing, the application worked quite well. Screenshots looked good and the app was easy to use. The one thing that it is missing is a hotkey. I would hate to have to go to the menubar every time I have to do a screen capture.
