Screenshot Helper is a screen capture tool that lets you clean the desktop in order to take clear screenshots. This program helps you hide the menu bar and the desktop icons that don't need to be seen in the captured image, therefore it lets you take neat and clear screenshots.
This simple application enables you to change the background image of your desktop to any solid color you want or even to a photo from your Mac. You can use the program's hotkeys to change your desktop's appearance by hiding the menu bar, mouse cursor or all desktop icons. The program automatically saves the captured picture to the desktop as a PNG file.
However, the program comes with some important disadvantages: there's only one output image format available, you can't change the destination folder for the taken screenshots, and the application doesn't allow you to adjust the photo capturing size.
Considering the aforementioned flaws, you can find better solutions for taking screenshots. Even though the program offers some helpful configurations for clearing the desktop's appearance, the output files can be saved to only one image format and you can't modify the picture's size before taking the screenshot.
