SD Card Recovery is a small application which recovers deleted or corrupted data from all types of Secure Digital Cards. It extracts any type of files, and even from formatted cards.
The program's interface is well designed and easy to use, with all the options displayed on the top bar. To the left there is a drives browser, a search drop box, and a list with various file types, all very helpful for selecting what needs recovering and from where.
The recovery process is done from a user-friendly wizard. First, a card needs to be connected to the PC. The next step is to select the card from the application's drive browser and choose from the list the file types that need to be recovered. The location for the recovered files can be selected using the Options button. The data should never be saved on the same SD card, because the application will overwrite the files from there, resulting in permanent data loss. When everything is set, clicking the Start Scan button will put the recovery process in motion. The application will look for the selected file types on the card, and will extract them to the chosen location.
Compared to other similar applications on the market, the scan options are very limited and cannot be customized to look for specific file sizes, names, or creation date.
