SelfControl is a Mac utility that helps you boost up your productivity by preventing you from accessing distracting websites or mail servers for a certain amount of time. This application comes with easy-to-configure settings, works 100%, and comes without a price.

All you need to do is to fill up the Blacklist with the webpages and mail servers you wish to block, set the timer, and click the "Start" button. Afterwards, you won't be able to access to websites or mail servers in your default web browser and you can resume your work in a distraction-free environment.

An advantage is that you can save and load Blacklists if needed. You also have access to predefined URL lists which can be accessed by clicking the "Import" button from the Blacklist window.

In my testing, the program worked flawlessly. Even after shutting down the application, I was still unable to access the websites from the Blacklist.

My only issue with this application is the fact that it doesn't provide you with an option to import TXT or RTF files which contain URLs. You can only load files with the self-control extension.

Still, this program proves to be a reliable solution for blocking certain websites and mail servers while working on your projects. It's efficient, simple to handle, and free-to-use.
