A Civilization VI expansion that adds repercussions to your decisions

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is very similar to previous iterations of the game. You build through the ages and progress while either holding back or destroying your enemy. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is an expansion to the base game.

There is a new “Dedication” mechanic

People who are familiar with the Civilization games will know that each iteration is similar to the last except that new features are added and the graphics are upgraded. The same is true of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Rise and Fall, and the most noticeable addition is the “Dedication” mechanic. As you begin each era, you are asked to make a decision about the direction your civilization goes, and that decision is carried over until the end of the game. For example, if you dedicate too much to your military, then your technology progress suffers, and if you dedicate too much to growth, then your defence against your enemies will suffer.

It adds a feeling of automation to the game

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is a tedious version of Civilization V with some of the better features thrown out. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Rise and Fall expansion doesn't fix the fact that VI pales in comparison to V, but it does add an extra element to the game. If the game went more in the direction of Galactic Civilizations II & III, then it wouldn’t be as tedious. Civilization VI was rushed and was released with many problems. The expansion fixes a tiny minority of the problems, but on the whole it feels like a cash grab. It is only recommended for people who are currently enjoying Civilization VI and who want to add a more automated feel to the direction each civilization takes.
