SmartShopper is supposed to be sort of a virtual shopping assistant. The application integrates with Internet Explorer and it pops-up when you are shopping for a product. It will then connect to other websites and get a list of prices, to help you find the cheapest one for you.
They have a demo on the website that shows how SmartShopper automatically connects to several online shopping websites and grabs prices and compares them to the product that you are currently browsing. In my testing, the app didn't do anything of the sort. I went to Amazon.com and looked for an iPod Touch. I don't believe there is a more popular product than that. The application didn't come up automatically. I had to call it up from one of the buttons that it installs on Internet Explorer. When it did appear, it didn't show any comparison. It just gave me a search box, where I typed "iPod touch". It didn't return any results and suggested I check my spelling. Well, I made it simpler and only typed "iPod" this time, after that "Xbox" and then "DVD"; no results.
The idea suggested by this app is great. If it only worked. In my case, it didn't. It might work for you. Currently, SmartShopper only supports Internet Explorer. They are supposedly working on a Firefox version.
