Snagit is a program that comes in handy to any Mac user who needs to easily and quickly capture screen activity. This application enables you to take snapshots and record videos, offers you quality output files within moments, and provides you with various media sharing options.
Before using this utility on your Mac you first need to create a personal account on the homepage of the developer. Afterwards, log in to your new account on the product's website and you can start using the desktop application. You can use this utility to take snapshots, edit screenshots, record video tutorials or game walkthroughs, etc.
Snagit can be accessed from the Menu Bar or from your Dock. You can take snapshots or record any area from your screen, capture mouse cursor, annotate screenshots, or share the resulting media files on multiple websites.
The application comes with two flaws: it supports a small amount of output formats for exporting video tutorials (MP4 and GIF), and it doesn't offer you any video editing options (option to highlight mouse clicks, crop clips, etc.). However, these two aspects don't mean much, especially if you plan on using this program only for its ability to take snapshots.
Briefly, Snagit is a helpful Mac utility that provides you with many useful features, works 100%, and comes with a reasonable price. I'd say it's worth giving it a try if you ever need to take snapshots or record videos on your computer.
