Snapz Pro X is a screen capturing utility designed for Mac. You can use this program whenever you wish to create a video tutorial for an app you designed, capture a window from your screen or create a walkthough guide for a game. The application is very intuitive, provides you with easy-to-configure output settings, and offers you quality screenshots and clips.
You can take snapshots of your entire screen, a window of another Mac app or any area you choose from your desktop. The program lets you choose from multiple output profiles for your screenshots, such as JPEG, BMP, PNG, PICT, PSD or PDF.
When it comes to video recording screen activity, the application lets you configure various settings. For example, you can select the preferred frame rate value and video resolution, enable microphone recording, etc. However, it supports only one output format for your video recordings, MOV. Other popular formats like MP4, AVI or MKV aren't supported by Snapz Pro X.
Another thing I didn't like was that I had to restart my Mac after installing this application. So, you have to suspend your work in other programs.
Cutting a long story short, Snapz Pro X is a helpful screen capturing utility. You should give it a try if the aforementioned disadvantages don't mean much to you. The trial period for this app lasts 15 days, enough time to test it and decide if it's worth keeping it on your Mac or not.
