Social for Facebook is a simple program designed for Mac that helps you access your Facebook account without using your default browser. The application brings you a very intuitive interface, uses minimum CPU resources, and displays notifications for new messages under your Menu Bar.
After you log in to your Facebook account within the app's main screen you can start posting pictures and videos, send messages to your friends, change your profile photo, and much more. Every time a Facebook friend sends you a private message, the app shows a notification and plays a sound in the background.
I like the fact that you can hide and reveal the app's main window by hitting a certain combination of keys (^S). You can change this global hotkey if you like to.
Another good aspect about this Mac utility is that it provides you with two display modes: Desktop (a large window which can be resized) and Mobile (similar to the Facebook mobile app).
